The Public Service Technology Building at
Pasco-Hernando Community College is home to the college's growing
correction, law enforcement, fire and legal assisting programs.
The new 35,000 sf structure houses a law enforcement and forensics
lab, a small auditorium with seating for more than 100 people,
legal assisting laboratories, classrooms and a special facility
to simulate the transporting of inmates. A mock courtroom, specially
designed holding cells, and interrogation rooms with one-way
mirrors are also incorporated in the facility. Outside the building
is a large driving pad training facility. This is used to train
officers how to drive police vehicles under high-speed conditions,
during rainy weather, as well as other dangerous conditions.
